Mountaineering in the Andes of Patagonia - Argentina & Chile, South America
Guided Mountaineering and Ski Mountaineering Andescross Personalized Mountain Guiding
Patagonia is widely renowned for it's world class mountaineering, and with Andescross our mountain guides have been sharing the wild beauty of the Patagonian Andes since 1999. We have chosen to guide small groups so we can offer our clients personalized mountaineering adventures in Patagonia. This way we can work with your vacation schedule and move at your pace.
Small groups allow our mountain guides to give you personal attention, while practicing safe mountaineering, and without overburdening the pristine environments of Patagonia. Our Professional Mountain Guides would love to share with you how much the Patagonian Andes of Argentina and Chile have to offer to mountaineers: dense Valdivian forests, hanging glaciers, turquoise rivers, the 2nd largest icecap in the world, waterfalls, diverse flora and fauna, and dramatic summits.
The National Parks of Patagonia are very diverse and on some of our guided excursions we take a lake crossing or go by horseback to access remote terrain. Many of the highest peaks in the Patagonian Lakes District are snow-capped or glaciated volcanoes!
Mountaineering and Alpine Ski Touring in the "Ring of Fire" includes the volcanoes Lanin, Puntiagudo, Osorno, Tronador, Puyehue, and others. From the top of one, you can see the others in a chain in the distance, and you will be high above surrounding Andes!
For those who would like some more action and do longer, wilder mountaineering trips, our mountain guides can take you to South America's Continental Ice Field in the Glaciers National Park of Southern Patagonia near El Chalten.
This is the 2nd largest ice cap in the world, and we can traverse from Paso Marconi to Paso del Viento by the Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre mountain ranges.
We also offer a unique guided mountaineering expedition in Cerro San Lorenzo in the Central Patagonian Andes. This is the 2nd highest peak in Patagonia and offers a great mountaineering ascent as well as ski touring and trekking in the very remote and almost unexplored land surrounding this impressive summit.
Our mountain guides enjoy the Patagonian Andes all year round!
From Ski Mountaineering and Alpine Ski Touring to Traversing the Continental Ice Field to Trekking, Mountaineering, Rock Climbing, and Exploratory Expeditions, our guides get out to the mountains as much as possible! Vamos!
