TRIP DETAILS

This day trip of guided backcountry skiing is ideal for a couple, a family, or for honeymoon skiers;  less physical endurance necessary than the average day of backcountry ski touring, and you still get some excellent views without working too hard!

We start our day taking the Alta Patagonia lifts at the Cerro Catedral Ski Resort, and then we head out to the southeast ridge.  We ski tour towards La Laguna, the most famous backcountry area of Cerro Catedral, and we stay high on the ridge to enjoy the views of the Patagonian Lakes District and Argentina’s Nahuel Huapi National Park.

This ski trip is best for good weather days to have the views of the Andes, Refugio Frey, and Van Titter Valley.  According to skiers’ preference, your ski guide can give you the option to ski some open bowls, chutes between the granite towers of La Laguna, or just traverse the ridge.
